Terms of Service
Who you're agreeing to
Rocket Retros is operated by Taylor Brooks, sole proprietor, doing business as Rocket Retros. A limited liability company is being formed for the service; when it is formed, it will take over as the operator and this page will say so. Until then, your contracting party is Taylor Brooks. By using Rocket Retros — and, for supporters, by checking the terms box at checkout — you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
What the service is
Rocket Retros lets you run sprint retrospectives in your browser. Retros are end-to-end encrypted: their contents are encrypted by your browser, and the decryption key never leaves it. We store and relay encrypted messages; we cannot read your retros, and by design we cannot get them back for you either — see “Encryption has consequences” below.
Your account and your room links
Solo retros need no account. Hosting a shared team room requires an account, claimed with an email address that receives sign-in codes. You are responsible for access to that mailbox and for the room links you create: a room link is also its key, so anyone who has it can open and decrypt that room. Treat links like door keys.
The supporter subscription
Hosting is free within daily limits; a US$5/month supporter subscription raises them.
The subscription renews automatically every month until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time from your account page — cancellation stops future renewals, the paid period runs to its end, and amounts already paid for it are not refunded. Payment details are handled by Stripe and never reach us. If the price changes, the new price is shown on this page and at checkout before your next renewal, and cancelling is always the same one button.
Acceptable use
Don't use Rocket Retros to break the law, don't put unlawful content in retros you host, and don't attack the service — the free tier is metered, and abuse is refused and logged. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service.
Encryption has consequences
If a room link is lost, or the browser holding a room's working copy is gone, that retro is unrecoverable — we keep no backups of retro contents, on purpose. We do not promise that any room, feature or the service as a whole will be available at any given moment: the free tier is budget-gated and may pause under extraordinary load or abuse.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account in the app at any time; this removes your email address and room records. For supporters, deletion also cancels the subscription at Stripe, effective at the end of the paid period. What deletion can and cannot reach is listed in the Privacy Policy.
Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Taylor Brooks is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and total liability under these terms is capped at the amount you paid in the twelve months before the claim — for free accounts that is US$0, and for supporters at most US$60.
Changes to these terms
These terms may change; material changes are flagged at the top of this page. Continuing to use the service after a change means accepting it. If you disagree with a material change, cancelling is the same one button it always was.
